This was a very fun debrief. Annabel has a way of keeping it real with her readers (both in books and emails) and she is by far my favourite author. I can't wait for her next book to debut in May! Seek!
Such great advice - even for those of us not with a Pub Day on the horizon! I loved the Stewart Smalley reference - Doggone it, people are going to like It’s a Love Story (I sure did!).
I LOVED your Nora Goes Off Script book!!! So well done. 🥰 I’m so excited for your next one and that I’ve preordered it through the author event with Viola Shipman that you are participating in too. I had no idea how important preordering books are to authors (Wade talked about it last night on his FB Live). I learn something new all the time. Great tips on traveling/packing too. 😂🙌🏼
Addictive romp…perfect description for IT’S A LOVE STORY!!
Mom’s Weekend…I never did that either my boys during their college years. I feel a little cheated. Many parents weekends though! Have a great weekend!!!!
Come to Atlanta on book tour! (But check the weather—April is all over the place.) Ignore reviews, but I'm sure yours will be fantastic. (Someone left me a Goodreads review—Goodreads readers hate everything, lol—and basically said the book would be okay if someone else had written it. 🤷♀️) Your books have what I call "the twinge effect"—I connect with the characters so deeply that when they hurt, I feel it in my hands, feet, and chest. I'm working on the fourth draft of my first novel, and I sure hope it has the twinge effect. 😍
Wow Dawn, the twinge effect! I know this feeling, and thank you! I love coming to Atlanta, Fox Tail is a major favorite. I have my fingers crossed🤞 best of luck with your book!
love this, what a lineup! looking forward to ‘It’s A Love Story’ and your book tour (tho i can't attend lol)!! random ques: but how long does it usually take u to write the first draft of a book? i’m drafting my first one and i get anxious whenever i write and bad whenever i don’t, haha (i’m really enjoying my story, i swear😭).
It takes about three months, but it’s awful and makes no sense. For me the first draft is about trying to get to know the characters and looking for emotion. Let it be bad and keep going!
I'm so jealous that you got to chat with some of my faves! Any news on YOUR book tour stops yet?
I think it’s all being announced really soon. You know I won’t be shy about posting in 100 times!
I'm refreshing everything like craaaaazy so I don't miss the tickets locally obviously :-)
🙏🙏
Even annabel’s brief newsletters are delightful and lovely! Just like her books, just like Annabel. 💕
Wow Ellen, thank you so much. It’s so nice to see you here 😊

What a lovely thing to say, thank you!
Hope your book tour brings you to Arlington, Virginia! (or Washington, DC)
Can’t wait!!!
❤️
"i wonder if Stephen King thinks about this stuff". DEAD 💀
(tbh, hes a dude that nominated his own book on the NYT Top 100 list so imma say... probably not.)
I’m also pretty sure his hair is its natural color
